The Value of Honeybees and pollination
Save Honeybees, Avoid Pesticides for honeybees. Honeybees play a critical role in pollination, which is essential for the reproduction of many plants and the production of a large portion of the food we eat. More than 80 percent of the world’s flowering plants need a pollinator to reproduce; and we need pollinators too, since most of our food comes from flowering plants. One out of every three bites of our food, including fruits, vegetables, chocolate, coffee, nuts, and spices, is created with the help of pollinators. Honeybees visit flowers to collect nectar and pollen for food. While flying from flower to flower, pollen sticks to their bodies and gets transferred, helping in fertilization. A single honeybee can visit hundreds of flowers in one trip
